Linden

Tilia is a genus of plants belonging to the family Tiliaceae and comprises about 30 species of leafy, flowering trees that are predominantly found in the northern hemisphere in temperate climates. Most species are tall trees, reaching 20-40 m tall, with cordate leaves. They are hermaphroditic species, with female and male flowers on the same plant. Lime trees are decorative outdoor trees and are found in parks and gardens, as solitary specimens, or in groups and alignments. They are slow-growing in their early years, after which they grow quite rapidly and have a longevity of about 200 years.
