Hello. The growth and ramification of linden trees may differ depending on the genetic background of the specimen (cultivar, variety), respectively depending on the existing conditions (especially light – being a light and sun loving plant, it tends to grow up to the level where it can benefit from sufficient light, to the detriment of the growth in diameter, and thus the stability and appearance of the plant is affected).
If you want a tall linden, you can let the sapling grow in its present shape (if necessary you can fix it with a taller stake). If you want the linden to grow branches from a certain height on the trunk, you can consider removing the tip (about 15-25 cm above the desired height for ramification). Cutting off the tip (stem) should be done above a bud, with a well sharpened and previously disinfected tool (e.g. ). Also, the shoot at the base of the stem can be removed by cutting.
For a vigorous growth, it is important to ensure the necessary nutrients, by administering a natural fertilizer that contributes to improving the quality of the soil, supports the development of the roots, increasing the resistance of the plant to stress factors, such as or , by watering at the roots, according to the recommendations in the chosen product description. A foliar fertilizer with a stimulating effect on a healthy and vigorous vegetative growth, such as , can also be applied regularly during the growing season.
