Avocado

Avocado, Persea americana, is a shrub native to south-central Mexico. It belongs to the Lauraceae family, in the wild, it grows as a 20 m tree with persistent foliage. The leaves are arranged alternately on branches, are 20 cm long. It does not flower in pots. In the wild, it forms paniculate inflorescences with small, greenish-white flowers protected by bracts.
