Avocado, leaves with brown spots, signs of wilting and dry tips
I have a pot with a 33 cm diameter in which I have 3 avocado trees: 130 cm (approx 2 years old), 90 cm (approx 1.5 years old) and 35 cm (approx 1 year old). All 3 have started to have leaf problems. They are planted in a substrate for flowers and at the top there is bark that has been shredded. They are in the corner of the living room and have direct light. The room temperature is 20 degrees. The leaves have started to dry out at the tips and become spotty about a couple of months ago. I would say since we moved them indoors when the temperature outside got colder (mid-October). I last transplanted them 1 year ago. The big one has a few more yellow leaves at the base (last picture).
Please guide me with advice on how to help them.
Thank you very much.Attachments:

Hello. In order to be able to help you with recommendations, please check carefully all parts of the plant and let us know if you notice any pests (including very fine webs or sticky substances). Additionally, please mention the time interval at which you water and the amount of liquid used per watering, as well as whether the substrate is damp or wet at any time (especially before watering). Please also attach some photos of the plants as a whole.
ElElena27 January 2024Hello, thank you very much for your answer.
I water them every 10-14 days, I check how the leaves look and when I see them drooping I put 1.5-2l of water. I do this to avoid overwatering during this colder period. I haven’t checked how the substrate looks.
The plants have no sticky areas at all, I found 2 white “lints” on all 3 trees (I have attached pictures of the biggest one).Attachments:

Hello. The deterioration of the plants can be caused by a combination of biotic and abiotic factors, but the nature of the symptoms cannot be accurately determined on the basis of the photos and information provided (Indoor plants - symptoms, causes, solutions). Some of the symptoms on the leaves resemble those caused by leaf spot (disease), and the white formations seem to be woolly aphids (Mealybugs in ornamental plants - pest management).
Thus, it is recommended to first remove the leaves that have spots, and then carry out 1-2 treatments with a fungicide such as Zoxis 250 SC, 10 ml, in a dose of 10 ml/10 L water, applied by foliar spraying, at an interval of 7-10 days between the two treatments, if necessary.
Subsequently, if you notice the presence of new white formations, you can consider crushing one between your fingernails. If the formation releases a blood-like substance, it is most likely an attack of woolly aphids. To control them, at an interval of min. 7-10 days after the fungicide treatments, you can consider carrying out treatments with specific insecticides, such as Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water and Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, in a dose of 3 g/10 L water. It is recommended to carry out 2 treatments at an interval of 7 days, as well as alternating the products. Specifically, if you carry out the first treatment with Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, you can carry out the second treatment with Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, 7 days after the first one. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the spraying solutions. After they die, these pests remain on the stem and leaves, so it is recommended to remove them with a damp sponge.
To help the plants overcome the stress, you may consider using a fertilizer such as AMN Verde, 500 ml, applied by watering according to the information on the product label.
The future development of the plants cannot be predicted. More information about the optimal care of this plant species can be found in our article: Avocado, plant care and growing guide.-
