Hello. In order to help you with recommendations, please describe the environmental conditions in the area (light, temperatures, draughts, air humidity), specify how often did you water and how much water did you use, and mention any other information that may be relevant in this case.
PDPetreus Denis16 January 2024It has a light source during the whole day, watering is done weekly on Sundays directly in the tray under the plant until it fills up and the plant stops absorbing water. Throughout the day it has a constant temperature, which only drops a little during the night.
Hello! From the attached pictures and the information provided, most probably the deterioration was caused by several factors such as environmental changes, improper watering, water in the root zone for a long period of time, bacteriosis, etc. In this case, it is recommended to remove the affected leaves, water with moderate amounts of water, so that the substrate dries out in the first 5 cm before watering again (keeping the substrate constantly moist can lead to root rot). It is also recommended to carry out 1-2 treatments, 7-10 days apart, with a fungicide such as Champ 77 WG, 20 g, in a dose of 20 g/10 L water. Spray (Tech1) the solution as finely and evenly as possible on the plant, both on the topside and underside of the leaves. It is important to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage), because the already prepared mixture does not have a shelf life longer than 24 hours.
You can also consider administering 2-3 treatments with an organic liquid fertilizer containing an algae extract such as AMN Nordalge, 500 ml. It increases the plants resistance to the attack of pests/diseases, it supports the plants in stressful conditions and it stimulates their healthy growth. Apply by watering according to the recommendations on the label.
From spring, to stimulate growth, you can consider using a special fertilizer for ficus such as Fertilizer Ficus Freund, 350 ml. More tips and information can be found in our articles: Ficus, plant care and growing guide; Ficus, pest and disease control.-
