Rats are rodent-like mammals, larger than mice, mainly spread throughout Europe and Asia. In general, both field species, which cause damage to agricultural crops and fruit orchards, and species that operate around households can be found. In addition to the damage they can cause to food and floors/walls (in an attempt to enter the home), they can carry diseases (plague, typhus, trichinosis, etc.) and pests such as fleas and ticks. The best way to combat rats inside the house is to set specific traps. Outside, chemical measures can be taken, using rodenticides, which are placed in poisoning stations.
