London plane tree
The Platanus (Platanus) is a genus of plants, the only one in the Platanaceae family, comprising 7 species of trees of the first size, up to 30-40 m tall. They are widespread in the northern hemisphere, originating in North America, southern Europe, and Asia. They are trees with a vigorous habit and a long life span. They are planted singly or in groups to decorate gardens and parks. They are preferred as street trees or in alleyways because of their highly decorative bark.
