London plane tree with yellow leaves
Hello, I have four London plane trees in the yard in the fall and for a few days now two of them have a few yellow leaves as in the attached pictures. I mention that now it is very hot outside, but this follows after a very long period of heavy rains. I noticed the yellowing now, with the arrival of the heatwave. Is it related to heat or is it a disease? What should I do? Thanks!

Hello, in order to be able to help you with the appropriate advice, we ask you to attach some photos of the entire London plane tree and to tell us if you have administered any treatment/fertilizer so far.

GaGabriel10 April 2022I have attached some pictures of the two affected London plane trees. It can be seen that only some leaves are affected, not all. Relevant treatments were not made but only the application of a generic fertilizer (in the form of liquid) but this was about 11-12 days ago (I used a concentration even lower than the recommended one on the bottle). I don’t know if it matters, but after the treatment, it rained a lot anyway.

The symptoms in the attached photos seem specific to high humidity, persistent in the soil, and implicitly in the root (especially since it was a period with heavy rainfall). Thus, it is recommended to remove the vegetation/grass from the base of the London plane tree and maintain a well-loosened portion of land, over the entire area of the roots. Subsequently, after removing the vegetation, in order to improve the soil quality and to stimulate healthy growth, as well as to intensify the absorption processes, it is recommended to apply periodically, by watering, a natural fertilizer, such as AMN BonaVita, 500 ml. Dilute 50 ml / 10 l of water and apply by watering the root. It is recommended to perform 2-3 treatments, at intervals of 10-14 days. In addition, in order to bring an intake of micronutrients and to prevent possible deficiencies, you can apply by incorporation to the base, a granular fertilizer, rich in organic matter, such as Manna Bio Spezial Fertilizer, 1 kg.
