Sour cherry tree

The sour cherry tree (Prunus cerasus) is a fruit tree related to the cherry and belongs to the Rosaceae family. It develops a low vigor crown, and its growth rate is slower than that of the cherry. The leaves are glossy, toothed at the edge, and the flowers are white. Pollination is entomophilous and cross-pollinated. In the orchard, it is recommended to plant at least three different varieties for proper pollination. The sour cherry comes bears fruits 2-3 years after planting and the longevity of the plantation is 20-30 years (depending on the variety).
