Sour cherry – treatments against Monilinia laxa
Our tree flowered and set fruit. Fruit were ripening but then dried up completely. Only some fruit survived, 80% withered completely and 10% were more than half dried up turning brown to black.

The sour cherry tree has Monilinia laxa that manifests on the fruits like: The young fruits wrinkle, brunify, and fall. The fruits are mummified and remain in the trees, ensuring the transmission of the disease in the next year. The fungus winters on the mummified fruits and in the bark of the attacked branches.
Prevention and control measures:
-Gathering and destruction of the attacked fruits;
-Cutting the affected branches up to the healthy area and covering the wounds with healing mastic resin;
-Chemical treatments in the dormancy period with products based on copper and preventive treatments applied in vegetation with Switch 62.5 WG, 10 g,(10 g/10 L water) Score 250 EC, 2 ml (2 ml/10 L water) or Chorus 50 WG, 4.5 g (4,5 g/10 L water).-
