Pip and Stone fruits

Fruit species are classified into two main categories: stone and pip fruits. The category of stone fruits includes trees whose fruits have stones, such as: plum-, cherry-, sour cherry-, apricot-, peach- and nectarine trees. The tree species that form fruits with pips are part of the pip fruit category, which includes: apple-, pear- and quince trees.
