Quince – red circular spots spots on fruits

I have a smyrna quince tree. This year most of the fruits have bright pink/red circular spots (each about a small nail size, sometimes covering almost all the fruit). The fruit and tree look otherwise ok. We have not noticed any pest on the tree. An arborist came this week and could not see any disease either. He could not identify the origin of the red spots (they developed recently, probably the last month).
We applied a fertilizer to the tree in March. The product we applied is Yum Yum Mix in solid form
We are in Salt Lake City, and the tree is outside. Temperatures have been relatively warm for our area, always well above freezing. I do not recall any extreme event in the last months (may be some days of heavy rain)
I do not know exactly when did the fruits start to develop the red spots; but i recall collecting an early quince that fell 1.5 months ago and it was spotless. Even now, I found quinces that had fallen at the base of the tree and were not affected.
I do not have a photo here of the tree – it seems healthy and it is quite young (3-4 years). We did not see any spots last year.
We just made jelly out of these batch of quinces and they are delicious, and their inner flesh does not seem to be affected by the spots. They smell well and otherwise seem healthy…

      thank you for your help!

Hello, in this case, only from the photos, it is not possible to specify exactly the causes of these symptoms, but the reddish spots can occur as a result of pest attack (e.g.: San Jose scale), abiotic stress, or viral problems. So, for a more accurate diagnosis, you may consider having laboratory tests carried out at a Plant Protection Institute in your area. Further, it is recommended to follow the specific care requirements and monitor the evolution of the quince tree during the next growing season.
