Quince tree, dry stump
I planted this quince tree a year ago. I shortened it at planting, and it grew beautiful branches. Unfortunately the topmost branch didn’t grow from the first bud, so there was a portion of a couple of cm left at the top, which dried out. The problem is that it seems to have withered lower than it should have. Should I leave it like that or is it better to remove the first branch?

Hello. In this case, the best thing to do is to cut the branch. When pruning it is important to cut as close as possible to the branch, without leaving a stump. After cutting, it is recommended to apply a product that helps close the wound and the formation of callus tissue (Bio Plantella Arbosan, 350 g or Healing Spray Spruhfix, 100 ml or Tree plaster, 300 g).
