Pine with larvae in substrate
Hello. I discovered these larvae in the pine pot. It has several brown twigs (from inside to outside). What are these worms and what can I apply against them? Does it wither due to insects or does it still have any disease? Thank you very much.

Hello, in the first attached photo, it’s the larvae of the cockchafer, but in general, these larvae do not affect the conifers. Also, if the pine is in a pot, it is very likely that the withering of the needles will be caused by physiological stress, caused by the root’s compaction. It is recommended to plant it in the garden, to allow the normal and healthy development of the root system and, implicitly, of the crown. It is essential that the planting is done with a root ball and that the roots have a volume proportional to the crown of the tree, so avoid cutting or affecting the roots in any way. Also, it is recommended to apply a rooting stimulator such as razormin or AMN BonaVita, 500 ml to promote its attachment. Dilute 30 ml / 10 l of water and apply by watering the soil. Later, during the vegetation period, you can administer a special foliar fertilizer to maintain the health of conifers: fluid Fir Fluid, 350 ml ).

IrIrina29 March 2022Hello. I bought razormin from you, which I diluted and put at the root of the pine. I am going to apply firfluid to it, but in the meantime, it has made these things on the branches. Do I need a different treatment? Thanks

IrIrina29 March 2022Also, in addition to the resin points, I noticed that the pine also has small spider-like webs. I don't want to lose it, and it looks worse.

Hello, from the attached photos, the pine shows the specific symptoms of scale insects. Therefore, it is recommended to apply 2-3 treatments with specific insecticides, by alternating different substances, at intervals of 6-7 days: calypso (Calypso 480 SC, 1.8 ml ), 1. 8 ml / 9 l water / movento (Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml), 7. 5 ml / 10 L water. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticide, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml to the spray solution, 2 ml / 10 L. After 10-12 days from the end of the treatments, you can apply the foliar fertilizer Fir Fluid, 350 ml.
