Pine, pests
Hi,
I have a pine tree (I think it’s Japanese) that has some small, grey insects on the branches. They stay grouped together (see last picture), and there is a glue/oil at the base. These beetles appeared in May and disappeared by themselves, and now, since September they have appeared again.
I am attaching pictures for you to see and tell me what to apply so I don’t damage the plant.
Thank you!Attachments:

Hello! Just based on the attached pictures and due to the small size of the insects, their exact identification is not possible. Please return with clear, close-up pictures of the pests.
ElElena13 October 2023Hi, I sprayed 3 days ago with Mospilan and I saw that they are in a smaller number – the smallest ones are left, I think they are their babies… I have attached the pictures but, because they are very small you can hardly see some grey dots on the branches. I hope they images are ok.
Thanks!Attachments:

Hello! Just from the attached photos it is difficult to identify the exact pest. In this case, considering the already carried out treatment, it is recommended to apply a single treatment with a broad spectrum insecticide such as Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/ 10 L water. In order to increase the effectiveness of the insecticide, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/ 10 L of water to the spraying solution. At the same time as the foliar treatment, it is recommended to use a fertilizer with a high potassium content, such as Fertilizer 0-0-40 Azet HerbstKali, 2 kg (by spreading it around the plants, in a dose of 20 – 30 g/m², followed by incorporation and watering), according to the instructions on the product label. This fertilizer increases the resistance to frost and other unfavorable conditions during the cold season and improves the water balance of the plants.
From spring onwards, fertilizers such as AMN Nordalge, 500 ml (which helps to revitalize and supply plants with nutrients) or AMN Trees, 500 ml (which is designed to restore the nutrient balance of trees and shrubs – applied by watering) can be used to supply the plants with nutrients and stimulate their growth.
Also in spring, Evergreen Fluid, 350 ml or Fir Fluid, 350 ml can be applied by spraying to prevent the browning of needles.
