Drooping leaves and flowers on Spathiphyllum
Hello! This beautiful plant has drooping leaves and flowers even though it has had the same environmental conditions as another spathiphyllum plant. It is positioned behind a curtain, I water it mostly by spraying, being careful with the flowers, the pot has drainage holes, I have carefully examined the plant and I don’t see any mites. It must have been cold, I opened the window next to it for 2 minutes max. Now I have moved it to another room where the temperature is 1-2 degrees higher. I attach pictures of both plants to see the difference. Have a nice day!

Hello, from the information provided the plant seems to show symptoms of dehydration, most likely due to the insufficient volume of water used for watering, especially as you have stated that it is mostly done by spraying. It should be mentioned that the plants do not absorb water immediately, but the substrate has to soak completely first. If, at the time of watering, the water flows quickly through the substrate, it is better to water the plant by immersing the pot in a container with water for about 30 minutes to allow the substrate to become completely soaked. Thus, it is still recommended to follow the specific care requirements for this species (Spathiphyllum, plant care and growing guide), and to stimulate a healthy growth as well as to enhance its ornamental qualities, it is recommended to periodically apply an organic fertilizer, specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of houseplants: Interior Plants Organic Fertilizer, 350 ml.
Additionally, in the future, in order to stimulate the abundant flowering of plants, you can also consider the periodic use of balanced fertilizers specially formulated to support the flowering process: Wuxal Flowers Fertilizer Blütenpracht, 1 litre or Flowering Organic Fertilizer, 350 ml, applied according to the recommendations on the label, depending on the product chosen.-

MiMihaela22 October 2023Hello! Something happened to my Spathiphyllum plant, all of a sudden its leaves and flowers dropped a bit as if it wasn’t watered. I water it every time it has the surface layer dry, I haven’t moved it from its place and I don’t know what could be wrong with it. What to do? Please help me.
I also had one that suddenly had dropping leaves and I couldn’t save it.Attachments:

The symptoms in the attached photos appear to be similar to the symptoms of dehydration described above. Thus, for the time being, it is advisable to water it according to the advice given earlier (to allow the substrate to be fully saturated) and to follow its evolution for a few hours/1-2 days. If it does not show any symptoms of improvement, we are waiting for your message, accompanied by photos.
StStefan23 October 2023My plant looks like this. It has been watered enough, what can it be?

Hello. In order to be able to help you with useful advice, please provide us with some relevant information about the environmental conditions in which this plant is placed (temperature, humidity, light), as well as about the care conditions: how often do you water it and how much water do you use? How long have you owned the plant and when did the symptoms start? Have you noticed any pests or signs of fungal diseases? Have you applied fertilizers or plant protection treatments recently?
StStefan24 October 2023It had small white fleas, I sprayed the plant with an organic solution from the florist, but the problem persisted. I water it once a week. The conditions in the room where it is kept are: 22-23 degrees, not in direct sunlight. I changed the pot, the soil and the plant were kept in the shower. The status is the same today. Yesterday I made the change. What else needs to be done?
StStefan24 October 2023I have had the plant for about 6 years. It has not bloomed this year.
Hello, from the inserted picture, the plant seems to show symptoms of dehydration, probably due to an insufficient volume of water used when watering. It should be mentioned that plants do not absorb the water immediately, and the substrate has to be completely soaked first. If, at the time of watering, the water flows quickly through the substrate, it is better to water the plant by immersing the pot in a container with water for about 30 minutes to allow the substrate to become completely saturated. In the future, it is advisable to consult the advice of specialists from the first signs of disease and it is recommended to keep the plant in optimal and constant growing conditions (Spathiphyllum, plant care and growing guide). Further, to stimulate a healthy growth and development, it is recommended to periodically administer an organic fertilizer, specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of houseplants: Interior Plants Organic Fertilizer, 350 ml. Additionally, in order to help the plant overcome the period of stress caused by pests, it is recommended to use a fertilizer specially formulated for this purpose, such as: Neem Oil Spray Fertilizer, 250 ml.

Recommended articlesLCLouertani Catalina25 October 2023Hello,
I received this flower as a gift and after 2 weeks the leaves started “fainting”… I initially thought it wasn’t positioned correctly (by the window, but it didn’t receive direct sun at all), and I moved it to another place where it had sun half the day… and it fainted completely. The temperature in the house is about 24-25 degrees and the air is dry (I sprayed the plant on the leaves after 2 days). I got the plant in bloom. It was watered every 3 days at first (very little) and then every 5 days with more water. The leaves dried out at the tips and a few small leaves turned yellow…I took it out on a plastic wrap in the tub for 2 hours just to make sure I didn’t overwater it, but the soil was dry on top yet moist after the first cm… it doesn’t seem to have mites or any disease. I’m going to replant it today in a bigger pot but I really want another opinion ! Thanks!Attachments:

Hello. As the plant was recently purchased, the symptoms were most likely caused by the storage conditions, transport and the change in environmental conditions (Acclimatisation of indoor plants and Indoor plant placement according to environmental factors) and by its care: inadequate watering, dry air, poor drainage, etc. In this case, you can consider transplanting the plant, using a new, fresh substrate, such as: Green Plants Professional Substrate, 10 litres, which provides an excellent drainage and even water distribution (while avoiding water stagnation). Subsequently, after transplanting, it is recommended to administer the natural fertilizer AMN BonaVita, 500 ml, which helps to improve the quality of the substrate, supports root development and increases the plants’ resistance to stress factors. The fertilizer is applied by watering, at a dose of 5 ml/1 liter of water (3-4 treatments at 10-14 day intervals are recommended). Further, it is recommended to follow the specific care requirements of this species (Spathiphyllum, plant care and growing guide), and in order to stimulate a healthy growth as well as to enhance its ornamental qualities, it is recommended to periodically apply an organic fertilizer, specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of indoor plants: Interior Plants Organic Fertilizer, 350 ml, according to the instructions on the product label.
