Citrus, white spots, attacked by mealybugs
Hello! My mandarin has some white spots, like salt, on the leaves and stem. I don’t know if they are lice or something else. Some leaves have brown spots. I have attached photos. Thank you!

Hello! From the attached photos, the clementine seems to suffer from an attack of mealybugs and/or scale insects. Against these pests, we recommend a first treatment with Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water, and a second treatment with Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, in a dose of 3 g/10 L water, 7 days after the first application. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the solutions.
The prepared mixture has a shelf life of maximum 24 hours, therefore it is advisable to only make the amount of solution you need for one treatment in the required quantity of water. Spray the solution as finely as possible so that it is distributed evenly on the plant, both on the underside and on the topside of the leaves. It is important to mention that, after they die, these pests can remain attached on the leaves, so it is recommended to remove them with a damp sponge (if possible).
Afterwards, 7-10 days after the treatments, it is recommended to apply a foliar spray fertilizer such as Contra X, 500 ml. It promotes the regeneration of plants after certain stressful conditions, or if they have been attacked by pests.

Recommended articlesZLZaleschi Luiza29 January 2024Hello, I have a lemon tree that I moved into the house in November and it has been doing well so far. But recently, the leaves have started to dry out and have some sticky stuff on them. Also, the twigs seem to have some lice on them! Can you please tell me how I can help it?

Hello! Your lemon tree is attacked by scale insects, the sticky substance represents their sweet droppings.
First of all, it is recommended to remove all the affected parts. For control, we recommend insecticide treatments with products such as Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water or Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, in a dose of 3 g/10 L water. It is recommended to carry out 2 treatments, 7 days apart, and to alternate the products. More precisely, if you carry out the first treatment with Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, you can carry out the second treatment with Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, 7 days after the first one. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is advisable to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the solutions. Spray (Tech1) the solutions obtained as finely as possible, so as to achieve a uniform distribution on the plant, both on the topside and on the underside of the leaves, as well as on the stem. After they die, these pests remain on the stem and leaves, so it is advisable to remove them with a damp sponge. The prepared solutions have a maximum shelf life of 24 hours, so it is advisable to prepare only the amount of mixture you need for a single treatment, in the corresponding volume of water.
7-10 days after the treatments, it is advisable to use a maintenance product with a product such as Organic Spray for Indoor Plants Zimmerpflanzen, 500ml or Contra X, 500 ml, applied directly by spraying. It supports the regeneration of plants after certain stress conditions, or if they have suffered from pest attacks.
Additionally, you may consider using a fertilizer that is specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of citrus, such as Citrus Fluid, 350 ml, in a dose of 10 ml/1 L water. This is applied by watering, once a week, during the growing season in order to stimulate the regeneration and healthy growth of the lemon tree.-
