RaRaluca10 April 2024Hello! From the attached photos, the lemon tree seems to be attacked by mealybugs. To control them, it is recommended to treat with insecticides such as Mavrik 2 F, 5 ml, in a dose of 5 ml/10 L water and Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water, applied alternately. More precisely, the first treatment is carried out with Mavrik and after 7 days Movento is applied. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the solutions.
The prepared mixture has a maximum shelf life of 24 hours, therefore, it is advisable to prepare only the solution you need for a single treatment, in an adequate volume of water. Spray (Tech1) the obtained solution as finely as possible, so that it is distributed evenly on the plant, both on the topside and underside of the leaves and on the stem. After they die, these pests remain on the stem and leaves, so it is recommended to remove them with a damp sponge.
Subsequently, 7-10 days after the treatments, it is recommended to apply a foliar fertilizer by spraying, such as Contra X, 500 ml. This supports the regeneration of plants after certain conditions of stress, or if they have been attacked by pests.
Also, during the growing period, you can consider the regular application of a fertilizer that is specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of citrus: Citrus Fertilizer Manna Zitrus, 1 kg or Citrus Fluid, 350 ml by watering at the roots, as recommended on the label.
