Cherry laurel

Cherry laurel with pale leaves – high soil moisture

Hello! 3-4 prunus out of the 10 planted a year and a half ago have less leaves, pale colour (not that intense green) and growth is slow. I have attached pictures for comparison. I gave them universal fertilizer a month ago and the leaves show no signs of pests. It’s possible that the area where they are planted is holding more water. Please, what treatment can I apply? Thank you!

Hello. Leaf depreciation may have occurred as a result of abiotic factors such as inadequate humidity conditions (accentuated by the presence of woody debris), poor soil conditions, lack of fertilization, etc.
As high soil moisture is not recommended for laurel, it is recommended that watering be done occasionally, only during dry periods. As various materials keep the soil moisture high and constant, removing the layer of woody debris around the cherry laurel is recommended. As the activity and spread of plant pathogens are favored by high soil moisture, it is recommended to carry out a preventive treatment with a biological fungicide such as Dynamic, 100 g, by watering at a dose of 10 g/ 10 L water. It is essential to prepare a volume of solution corresponding to a single treatment (respecting the mentioned dosage) because the prepared mixture does not have a validity longer than 24 hours.
At the same time, you can apply by spraying a fertilizer that stimulates plant regeneration after certain stress conditions, such as Interior Plant Regeneration Ackerschachtelhalm RTU, 500 ml, according to the instructions on the product label.
Subsequently, at approx. 10-14 days after the fungicide treatment, it is recommended to use a fertilizer with algae extract, which stimulates healthy growth, increases resistance, and supports the plants in overcoming periods of stress, such as AMN Nordalge, 500 ml, by watering, according to the instructions on the label. Further application of the two fertilizers can be continued, following label recommendations.
