Maple

The genus Acer (maple) comprises 110 species of trees and shrubs, native to Asia, Europe, North America, and North Africa. The species are decorative in habit and foliage. The leaves are deciduous, oppositely arranged, and palmate or pinnate in shape. The flowers are yellowish-green and of no decorative interest, and the fruits are disarming, in some species beautifully colored, decorative.
