Considering the recent planting and the mentioned problems, if you have not identified the presence of pests, it is recommended to remove the affected leaves and to properly care and fertilize the maple as described in our article: Maple, planting guide and care work. In addition, considering the recent planting in order to improve the soil quality, to stimulate root expansion and to increase plant resistance, you can consider administering regularly, by root watering, a fertilizer specially formulated for this purpose, such as , or , according to the instructions on the label of each product. Additionally, you can consider applying a fertilizer that increases the plants’ resistance to various biotic and abiotic factors, while keeping pests at bay due to its garlic content: . It is applied by foliar spraying at 2-4 week intervals, according to the instructions on the product label.
It is recommended to keep the maple under observation for a while, i.e. to check carefully the lower and upper part of the leaves, petioles and branches, during the day and at night (if you can).
