Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum is a genus of flowering plants in the Asteraceae family. They are native to Asia and northern Europe. They are also known as bushes, daisies, autumn daisies. The name of the genus comes from the Greek words 'chrysos'=gold and 'anthemon'=flower. They are herbaceous perennials, growing in clumps in the form of bushes. Most species are annuals. They have straight stems on which leaves are alternately inserted. The leaves are lobed, with toothed, deep green edges. Chrysanthemums bloom in autumn and flower from September to December.
