Birch

The birch (Betula L.) is a genus of deciduous trees of the Betulaceae family, native to northern temperate climates and widespread in the northern hemisphere. It is generally found in lowland and hilly areas. Most are medium to small trees. It has a graceful habit and a straight trunk with a whitish bark, which peels off in bands. They are planted as solitary trees or in groups. They are found in gardens and parks, contrasting with darker trees.
