Scale bugs

Scale bugs - are pests belonging to the order Homoptera. Scale insects have a soft body covered by a shield or carapace. Females are apterous, have strongly developed mouthparts, males have a pair of wings and rudimentary mouthparts, they do not cause damage. Scale bugs form colonies on branches, trunks, and sometimes on roots, characterized by the presence of a whitish-white sheath. They are polyphagous species, the adults and larvae colonize stems, branches, leaf blades, leaves, flowers, and fruits.
