Thuja, leaves drying from the inside
Hello, everyone!
I have a problem with the thuja trees in my garden. They have started to dry out and I don’t know what to do.
The thuja were planted a few years ago and have always looked healthy. But in the last few months I have noticed that they have started to dry out. The tips of the branches have turned brown and the leaves are starting to fall off. -
Hello! In order to be able to help you with a recommendation, please give us details regarding the existing environmental conditions, at what intervals and by what method do you water them, tell us whether or not any treatments/fertilizers have been administered, whether or not the presence of pests can be observed (deposits, holes, fine webs), and any other information that may be relevant in this case. Please also attach some photos of the plants both close up and as a whole.
GoGolden30 November 2023Here is a photo taken in August. Now the situation is even worse. I haven’t used any fertilizer yet.

Hello! It is well known that the slight wilting inside the crown and at its base is a normal phenomenon in conifers, which occurs with age, i.e. with the growth and thickening of the crown and, therefore, the limitation of the light penetration inside it. The symptoms can be accentuated by several biotic or abiotic factors, such as unsuitable soil conditions, a reduced size of the root system, unfavorable climatic conditions, excessive summer heat, etc. For the time being, it is recommended to remove all the affected needles or parts of the plants. Subsequently, it is recommended to carry out a copper treatment with Champ 77 WG, 200 g, in a dose of 20 g in 10 liters, according to the instructions on the product label. Spray the solution as finely as possible, so as to achieve an even distribution on the plant, both on the leaves and on the stems.
Starting in spring, fertilizers such as AMN Nordalge, 500 ml which helps to revitalize and supply plants with nutrients or AMN Trees, 500 ml which is designed to care for and restore the nutrient balance of trees and shrubs (applied by watering) can be used to supply the plants with nutrients and stimulate their growth.
Also in spring, Evergreen Fluid, 350 ml or Fir Fluid, 350 ml can be applied by spraying to prevent the browning of the foliage.
