      Orchids, abnormal looking leaves

      Hello,
What disease can my orchids have?
They have been like this for a few months. An acquaintance advised me to spray them with Ikebana and to apply a fertilizer. I changed the pots and they seemed to recover, but unfortunately they did not.

      Thanks, have a nice day!

Hello. In order to help you with recommendations and advice, please give us more details about the growth and care of your plants: how long have you had them, when did the symptoms start, what are the environmental conditions (light, temperature, humidity), how do you water the plants (ex: by immersion), what is the source of the water, what is the temperature of the water, tell us whether the substrate dries out before watering, whether there are cold draughts, if there is a heat source near the plants, if you have fertilized them, and any other relevant information. Also, please check the plants carefully and let us know if you notice any other symptoms of disease (deposits, powders, discoloration, white fuzz, fine webs on the underside and topside of the leaves, etc.) or pests. In case you notice symptoms of disease/ pests, please attach clear and relevant photos of them.

      Hello,
I’ve had the plants for 4-5 years, I bought/received them over the years. Initially I had them by the bedroom window, at some point I moved them into the hallway where they did even better than in the bedroom. I also have a radiator next to the window where they are positioned. I avoid opening that window, or if I open it I move the flowers. I water them once a week or even less often (depending on how I manage to find the time), with tap water at room temperature. The first signs of disease started to appear last year in August, when I brought in a new orchid, which didn’t seem to have any problems. At first, 2 of the old ones had small bubbles of sticky transparent liquid and later the spots started to appear as in the pictures sent earlier. About every 2-3 months I also use a fertilizer, “Biopon Elixir Duo Orchid Regeneration Fertilizer 35 ml” or “FLORIA Orchid Guano Stick Fertilizer, 30 pcs”.
I sprayed them in September with Ikebana, changed the soil and used “Biopon Elixir Duo Orchid Regeneration Fertilizer 35 ml” and they seemed to recover, new leaves and roots appeared.
What other problems I’ve noticed, but I don’t know if they’re from the orchids – a few small flies. Nothing else.

Hello. From the information received from you and from the inserted photos, the deterioration of the orchids could be caused by one or more factors: possibly the presence and stagnation of water droplets on the leaves and on the base of the stem (the black spots), the constant change of location, possibly the attack of mites or thrips, etc. In this case, it is recommended to maintain the optimal environmental and care conditions (Orchid, plant care and growing guide) and to treat with Vertimec 1.8 EC, 10 ml, in a dose of 5 ml/10 L water. In order to increase the effectiveness of the insecticide, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, 2 ml/10 L, to the solution. Spray the mixture as finely as possible so that it is distributed evenly on the plants, both on the underside and topside of the leaves and on the stem. The treatment can also be applied to the other plants in the enclosure (if applicable).
To help the plants overcome this period of stress, 7-10 days after the end of the insecticide treatment, it is recommended to apply a foliar fertilizer such as Biplantol Orchid, 500 ml, which helps the plants to recover faster. Further, it is recommended to monitor the evolution of the plants for a while, and in case other symptoms appear or the ones mentioned above worsen, we are waiting for your message accompanied by photos.
