Lemon tree with spots that look like stings on the leaves
Hello,
I managed to grow a lemon tree from the seed. It is about 1 year old and approximately 6 months ago suffered from a fairly aggressive thrips infestation.
I eventually managed to get rid of the thrips and the plant seems to be relatively healthy, with new, large, green leaves appearing. It hasn’t lost many leaves and seems to be thriving.
On the new leaves – which are also the plant’s largest – I noticed these little (I don’t even know what to call them) “bumps”/”lumps”.
So far I haven’t fertilized the plant but I have bought a special spray for citrus (liquid) from versay.
Hope you can help me in identifying the problem and its cause.
Thank you!Attachments:

Hello! I own a lemon tree. Since I bought it, it has been kept only inside the house. Recently I noticed an insect on it. Could you please tell me what it is and how I can solve the problem? Thank you!

Hello! From the attached photos, the lemon tree appears to be attacked by scale insects. Against these pests, we recommend a first treatment with Movento 100 SC, 7.5 ml, in a dose of 7.5 ml/10 L water, and a second treatment with Mospilan 20 SG, 3 g, in a dose of 3 g/10 L water, 7 days after the first treatment. To increase the effectiveness of the insecticides, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the solutions.
Spray the solutions as finely as possible so that they are distributed evenly on the plant, both on the underside and on the topside of the leaves. It is important to mention that, after they die, these pests can remain attached to the leaves, so it is recommended to remove them with a damp sponge (if possible).
Before carrying out the treatments it is recommended to harvest all the fruit.Subsequently, 7-10 days after the treatments, it is recommended to apply a foliar fertilizer such as Contra X, 500 ml. This supports the regeneration of plants after certain stressful conditions, or if they have been attacked by pests.
Also, to revitalize the plant and increase its resistance to stress, you can consider using a fertilizer that is specially formulated for the nutritional requirements of citrus, such as Citrus Fluid, 350 ml. This is applied by watering, once a week during the growing season, following the information on the label.

Recommended articlesBoBogdan4 March 2024Hello, which of the questions have you answered? I saw that a lady also posted her problem as an answer to my post.
Hello! These lumps can be caused either by a pest attack or by a physiological disorder (such as oedema). In this case, check the plant carefully, and if you notice the presence of a pest, please attach some clear, close-up photos. If it is an oedema, it can occur as a result of abiotic stress, and the most common cause is high humidity in the substrate. Under these conditions, the roots absorb water at a faster rate than the plant can remove it through transpiration. To avoid the formation of new oedemas, it is advisable to water moderately (avoiding the stagnation of water in the tray), leaving the substrate to dry slightly before watering again.
