Catalpa, massive aphid infestation – treatment recommendations
Hello
I have a Southern Catalpa that from the time it started to have leaves has been infested by aphids, I think. I treated it with Maverik 10 days ago. In the meantime I have noticed that they have multiplied (compared to what you see in the pictures) and that the leaves have a sticky and withered appearance. I am going to treat it today with Tepeki but the infestation seems so aggressive that I don’t know how to proceed, the whole tree is covered by pests. What should I use? Is there something stronger? ThanksAttachments:

Hello, it is recommended to treat with Teppeki, 1.5 g, together with an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml (which is added to the prepared solution). Dissolve according to the label recommendations and apply by foliar spraying as evenly as possible on the catalpa, both on the underside and the topside of the leaves.
Subsequently, depending on the evolution of the attack, 7-10 days after the treatment with Teppeki, 1.5 g, it is recommended to alternate with an insecticide such as Deltasap 2.5 EC, 5 ml, and to add to the solution the adjuvant Break Thru S 240, 2 ml.
At the same time as treatments are carried out, to ensure the catalpa’s nutrient requirements and for its revitalization, you can also choose to apply a fertilizer such as AMN Powerfertiliser, 500 ml, through watering, regularly, according to the instructions on the label.
Additionally, in the future, in order to detect the presence of pests (aphids, flies, etc.) early on and to be able to apply a treatment at an early stage of the attack, it is recommended to use an adhesive trap such as the Interior & Garden Insect Trap. The pest insects are attracted by the color of the paper and stick to the special adhesive.-

EdEduárd19 May 2023Good evening, I used Faster 10 EC, 2 ml against aphids. Did I make a mistake or do I have to repeat the treatment after a week?
Faster 10 EC, 2 ml is approved for aphids, so it can be applied against them. If they are still present, 7-10 days after treatment, it is recommended to alternate with an insecticide such as Teppeki, 1.5 g, together with an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, added to the prepared solution in a dose of 2 ml/10 litre solution.

AIAndreea Iorgu27 May 2023Hello. So I already applied Mavrik 2 F, 5 ml, and after 10 days Teppeki, 1.5 g without any adjuvant. I can see that the aphids have disappeared and the tree looks better. With the exception of some leaves that remained more wrinkled. Should I apply another round of Deltasap? It’s been 10 days since using Tepeki. I’ll apply the fertilizer, but should I repeat the 3rd insecticide treatment? Thanks
If the aphids are no longer present, the third treatment is no longer necessary. Only the regular administration of the respective fertilizer and the regular monitoring of the catalpa to see if the aphids will reappear are required.
