Celery

Celery (Apium graveolens) is a biennial aromatic plant of the Apiaceae family, cultivated primarily for its stem and root, which are used as vegetables. The rhomboid leaves of the celery plant grow in a rosette on a branched, many-veined central stem. The plant produces dense creamy white flowers (an umbrella of short flowering stems) and produces oval seeds 1.5-2 mm wide. Celery is eaten worldwide as a vegetable. Both root and leaves are often used.
