Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a fruit-bearing shrub belonging to the family Elaeagnaceae. It is a thorny shrub, growing as a bush. Depending on environmental conditions, it can grow to a height of between 1.5 and 5 m. The leaves are linear-lanceolate and silvery in color. Catina is a unisexual dioecious plant, i.e. male and female flowers are found on different specimens. The male flowers appear before the female flowers and are called cones. The female flowers are grouped in racemose inflorescences. The flowering period is in March-April, and pollination is done by the wind (Anemophily). The fruits are egg-shaped, orange. The ripening period begins in August and ends at the end of October. In terms of environmental conditions, it is not a demanding plant, withstanding high and low temperatures and making good use of different types of soil.
