Kiwifruit

Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) is a fruit-bearing shrub belonging to the Actinidiaceae family. It grows in the form of a vine, with vigorous growth. The leaves are large, cordate to round, pubescent on the underside. Kiwifruit is a unisexual-dioecious plant, with male flowers (staminate) and female flowers (pistillate) on different individuals. The flowers are large, fragrant, white, flowering in May-June. The fruits are oval-shaped, brown, and covered with dense hairs.  Kiwifruit plants are sensitive to low temperatures, so planting in areas with a low risk of frost is recommended.
