Photinia

Photinia x fraseri is an ornamental shrub, that belongs to the Rosaceae family and the genus Photinia. This species is generally used for hedges. Photinia x fraseri appeared from the cross between Photinia glabra and serratifolia. Plants of this genus are native to Asia and Central America. The leaves of these species are whole or serrated, alternately arranged. Most of the species in this genus have green leaves throughout the year, but there are species that lose their leaves once the intensity of the photosynthesis process decreases. Flowering takes place at the beginning of summer and the fruits are small, red.
