Hydrangea

Hydrangea (Hydrangea) is a genus comprising 70-75 species of flowering plants in the Saxifragaceae family, native to Asia and America. Most are shrubs 1-3 m tall, some grow as small trees, and others are vines reaching up to 30 m tall. They may have evergreen or deciduous foliage. All temperate species have drooping leaves. They are common ornamental plants in gardens and parks, as single specimens or in groups. The name of the genus 'Hydrangea' comes from Greek and means 'water pot', referring to the shape of the seed capsules.
