Hibiscus

Hibiscus syriacus is a shrubby, flowering plant native to China and the Asia Minor Peninsula. The species name comes from the fact that it is often found in gardens in Syria. It can grow up to 2-4 m tall, has lobed, dark green leaves and flowers in summer-autumn. The flowers are trumpet-shaped, variously colored (pink, purple, white), with a reddish-brown spot in the center and yellowish-white stamens.
