The branches of the hibiscus hedge are covered with white fuzz
The hibiscus hedge planted in front of the house at the end of April turned white. I did not apply any treatment or fertilizer, only irrigated. The fence developed beautifully but this problem appeared. What do you recommend to remove the white dust from the branches?

Hello. White fuzz is characteristic of two pests: Metcalfa pruinosa (citrus flatid planthopper) or Eriosoma lanigerum (woolly apple aphid). The symptoms of the attack of the two pests are very similar and require further examination. Please check if when you remove that fuzz, you notice the presence of a butterfly (planthopper), or if you notice the presence of woolly lice (these are more visible and move more slowly than the planthopper), and by crushing, it releases a reddish substance. Also, please attach some clearer photos of the plant.

Thanks for the guidance. I looked closely at the branches of the hedge and noticed that when I removed the white fluff from the branches, some white fleas were jumping or flying. One of them sat on my arm and began to move easily. When I crushed it, it was sticky. I also noticed perforated leaves and a larva. What should I do?

From the attached pictures, the plants seem to be attacked by the citrus flatid planthopper, and in one of the pictures you can see a caterpillar. In this case, it is advisable to carry out a first treatment with an insecticide such as Faster 10 CE, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/6 L water, and 7 days after the treatment, it is advisable to alternate with an insecticide such as Deltasap 2.5 EC, 5 ml, in a dose of 5 ml/10 L water. To increase the effectiveness of insecticides, it is recommended to add an adjuvant such as Break Thru S 240, 2 ml, in a dose of 2 ml/10 L to the liquid. Spray the solution as finely as possible, so as to achieve a more even distribution on the plant, both on the topside and on the underside of the leaves, as well as on the stem.
7-10 days after the application of insecticide treatments, in order to increase the resistance of the plants to the attack of plant pathogens and to keep pests at bay, it is recommended to regularly apply a fertilizer such as AMN Fusek, 500 ml. The fertilizer is applied throughout the growing season by foliar spraying at a dose of 100 ml/10 L water.
In addition, starting in August, to increase the plants’ resistance to drought and frost, you can consider applying a granular fertilizer such as Fertilizer 0-0-40 Azet HerbstKali, 2 kg.-
