Pineapple is a genus of plants in the Bromeliaceae family, native to Central and South America, comprising both cultivated and ornamental species. It has a rosette of elongated leaves, in the middle of which develops an inflorescence consisting of large, reddish bracts and small flowers. Later, it develops into edible fruit.
