Pilea

Pilea is the largest genus of flowering plants in the Urticaceae family, comprising approximately 700 species, most species being herbaceous plants or shrubs. The Pilea peperomioides species is the best known plant of this genus, being popular due to its coin-shaped foliage. Native to southern China, it blooms occasionally, producing white, pink or cream flowers. In general, the growth of Pilea species is moderate.
