Almond tree

The almond tree (Amygdalus communis) is a fruit tree belonging to the Rosaceae family and is prized for its fruit. The fruit can be eaten fresh or used in the food and pharmaceutical industries etc. In the first years after planting, almond trees grow rapidly. The stem can reach up to 12 meters. The flowers are hermaphrodite, white-pink in color, and pollination is entomophilous. It is recommended to plant 2-3 varieties in the plantation to ensure proper pollination. The leaves are lanceolate and have a serrated edge. The fruit is a drupe bearing a seed inside. The almonds are enclosed in the skin. They have an oblique shape and are brown.
