Silver fir, it is drying and the needles are purple

      Hello everyone,
I have the problem that can be seen in the uploaded pictures: the needles of the tree are purple, some of them are dry, and in some parts the branches are dry and break easily.
The tree was planted last year in November. I believe I watered it correctly, I applied the ‘Compo’ fertilizer, but recently, about two months ago, I saw that it started to dry out. Still, I thought it would recover.
What advice can you give me? I wouldn’t want to lose it.
      Thank you!

Hello! From the information given and the attached photos, the most likely cause of the deterioration was a combination of abiotic and biotic factors: the stress suffered during transplanting (which can have long-term negative effects), the quality of the soil, excessive summer heat, nutrient deficiencies, possibly improper watering or the development and spread of phytopathogens (an exact diagnosis requires some laboratory analysis). For the time being, if no pests can be observed, it is recommended to remove/prune the affected parts (Power Pruner).
As a preventive measure, after the dry parts have been removed, you can treat with a fungicide such as Champ 77 WG, 20 g, in a dose of 20 g in 10 liters by foliar spraying. In this period, for all species of ornamental trees and fruit trees, you can apply a fertilizer such as Fertilizer 0-0-40 Azet HerbstKali, 2 kg, by spreading it around the tree in a dose of 20 – 30 g/m². It is a fertilizer with a high potassium content, ideal for autumn fertilization. It increases the plants’ resistance to frost and improves the plants’ water balance. 7 days after applying the fungicide treatment, you can apply Evergreen Fluid, 350 ml or Fir Fluid, 350 ml once, by spraying the tree. Then, you can resume applying the foliar treatments in spring to prevent the browning of needles. In view of the current condition of the plant and those mentioned, it is not possible to say exactly how the plant will develop in the future.
