Fir tree, planted in autumn, has a few dry needles
Hello, I open this discussion probably more out of concern. I recently removed a completely dried out fir that was about 15 years old.
In November we planted 2 trees in the nursery with large root bales. I find it hard to assess the adequacy of the bales. But both trees, the 2,5m and the 1,4m one were very heavy, 180-200kg and 80-100kg respectively. When planting and a week ago I administered Biopon conifer granules, dissolved with water and applied to the roots .
I’m adding a couple of pictures – one as a whole and one in detail, hopefully as representative as possible of each of the two trees. You can see sporadically dry needles at the top. It’s not whole branches but just some needles. Perhaps this is a normal natural process but I want to make sure. And I can also see what to me looks like spider webs, not silk-like, as in other pictures on the forum.
I’m interested if all they need is just some fertilizers applied at the roots and foliarly or is there is some treatment required? I wouldn’t want to carry out treatments that are NOT necessary.
Yesterday I placed an order based on reading the forum for: “Tree Shrubs, 1 litre” and “AMN Nordalge, 500 ml”.
I am interested in whether these are sufficient.
