Lilac with white powder on leaves
Hello, my lilac has the leaves, especially from the base, covered with white powder. Initially, I thought it was dust on the street. The ones above are less white than this but are very curled. He is old (over 30 years old), watered weekly, and was not fertilized until spring. Please help me with treatment. Thanks!

The lilac in the pictures has symptoms of powdery mildew. In this case, you can apply treatments with a fungicide such as Topas 100 EC, 3 ml , applied by spraying in a dose of 3 ml / 10 l water or Amistar, 10 ml, applied by spraying in a dose of 10 ml / 10 l water. It is recommended to apply two or three treatments at intervals of 5-7 days between them, as well as alternating products. If first treatment will be performed with topas, the second treatment will be done afeter 5-7 days with amistar, and after another 5-7 days topas will be applied again. At 7-10 days after the treatments, a foliar fertilizer with regeneration and strengthening effect of the plants can be applied, such as Biplantol Vital NT, 250 ml, applied by spraying on leaves in a dose of 20 ml / 1 l water. Applications can be repeated in about two to three weeks.

AmAmalia30 March 2022Hello, what do you recommend, please, to help the flower? I repotted it to a larger pot in which I added special fertilizer for hydrangeas. I mention that I added a little crushed brick just to keep the pink color of the flower. Wet it regularly and keep it in a semi-shady place. Thank you very much.

Hello, in this case, because is recently repotted, it is recommended to apply a stimulator based on beneficial microorganisms such as AMN BonaVita, 500 ml. Apply by watering, with a dose of 30 ml / 10 l of water. Three treatments can be performed at an interval of 10-14 days between them. For more details on the care of hydrangeas, you can access our article (Hortensia, planting guide and care work).

Recommended articlesAdAdelina30 March 2022Thank you very much. I would like to ask you which of the following products can replace amistar, because I already have them: score, polyram, dithane, topsin, ridomil, cidley top, champ.

Both topas and amistar are approved against powdery mildew on ornamental plants. Among the fungicides mentioned, topsin and cidely top can be applied for the control of powdery mildew, but aren’t approved for ornamental plants.
