INFO | Mimosa pudica care tips
Hello,
I received this plant a few days ago.
Please tell me if it is normal for the leaves/part on the lower side to yellow, dry out or fall off?
Also please help me with:
– what substrate it needs (I want to move it to a bigger pot)
*which pot should I buy (are there special models like for orchids)
– watering intervals
– positioning in terms of light
– other substances it needs as care
I would like you to indicate the products in your shop so that I can make a correct and quick purchase.
Thank youAttachments:

Hello. Overall, the plant in the attached pictures looks good. Considering what you mentioned, turning some leaves yellow may be due to changing environmental and care conditions. As it is a sensitive plant to transplanting, it is recommended to keep it in the pot in which you received it for a while, until it is fully acclimatized (Acclimatisation of indoor plants and Indoor plant placement according to environmental factors, respectively Indoor plants - Repotting). In general, the best time for transplanting is spring, the recommended substrate for this species being: Room Plants Substrate, 10 litres. Mimosas are not fussy about potting, as long as the pot is quite large and has water drainage holes. This species is light and warmth-loving, so it is recommended to place it in a well-lit and warm place all year round. Watering intervals cannot be specified as they depend on many factors (air humidity, temperature, plant size, pot size, substrate properties, etc.). However, watering should be carried out regularly, so that the substrate is kept at a constant humidity, avoiding waterlogging.
Yellowing of some basal leaves may also occur due to insufficient atmospheric humidity. You can therefore consider placing the plant on a tray with a layer of permanently wet gravel. To stimulate healthy growth and development, it is recommended to use a fertilizer such as AMN BonaVita, 500 ml, by watering, as recommended in the product description. This is a natural fertilizer that improves the quality of the substrate, supports root development, and increases the plant’s resistance to stress factors.
More information about the environment and care conditions for mimosas can be found in the following article: Mimosa, plant care and growing guide.- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by Armuro.
