Fir tree, very tilted because of the storm
Hello. Following the storms in our area lately we have a tree that is very tilted. The question is if we straighten it and anchor it upright can it recover? More than likely it has a broken root because the ground is not raised. Will the root still recover? It’s the size of two and a half stories. Thank you!

Hello. The degree of damage to the tree cannot be determined from photographs alone. Root recovery depends on how damaged the tree is. You can try anchoring the tree using stakes and a special anchoring material designed not to damage the bark of the tree and not to cause it extra stress. It is recommended that the repositioning is done carefully and slowly, so as not to risk further injury to the roots. Starting in spring, it is advisable to apply a stimulant such as AMN BonaVita, 500 ml to help restore its roots. The product should be applied according to the information on the product label. In view of the above, the future development of the plant cannot be predicted.

ilileana9 December 2023Hi Andrei what did you do with the tilted tree?
I have exactly the same problem with 2 trees, not just one, in the garden. Also after some strong winds in November. They are sharply tilted towards the fence. I don’t know how and I can’t physically anchor the conifers alone and I don’t know whether to cut them or not.AnAndrei10 December 2023Hello! I gathered 3 neighbors and together we pulled it back slowly. Then we anchored it in 4 points. From what we could – a big healthy tree, a railing and a pole. And it also has 3 props next to the stem. It’s pretty distressed but we’re hoping to save it. Although I don’t hold out much hope. Good luck
ilileana11 December 2023Ooooooo, how nice that you had someone to help! And what ropes did you anchor him with? From where? How thick?
One picture, or two? Thanks.AuthorPostsViewing 4 reply threadsWas this discussion helpful?
