Hello. It is well known that the same plant species can be more or less sensitive to the action of the same biotic and abiotic factors, and their growth, development and resistance depends on many factors, from the genetic background of each plant to the environmental factors in which they are placed (microhabitat, especially soil properties: structure, texture, porosity, water retention capacity, presence of harmful salts in some areas, inadequate humidity and others).
In this case, it is recommended to remove the turf around each conifer, at least in the approximate area where their roots spread. As the activity and spread of plant pathogens is stimulated by high and constant soil humidity, watering is recommended to be carried out only at the roots, depending on the recorded temperatures and rainfall, and only when the soil is dry on the surface. Watering with sprinklers or together with the lawn is not recommended.
Adequate fertilizing is also essential to ensure a healthy, vigorous growth and development of conifers. The main purpose of root fertilizers is to improve the fertility, texture and structure of the soil, thus stimulating the optimal uptake of nutrients from the soil and thus the growth of the plants (e.g. or ). Foliar fertilizers prevent deficiencies, improve the photosynthesis process and contribute to chlorophyll biosynthesis, stimulate a healthy growth and improve the resistance of plants to physiological stress as well as to diseases and pests (e.g. or ). During the growing season, a root fertilizer and a foliar fertilizer can be applied regularly, following the recommendations in the product description.
It is further recommended to follow the specific care conditions detailed in our article: Cypress, planting guide and care work.
