It has its origins in Vietnam, Southern China, Mexico, Honduras, and the Southern part of the United States. It is a climbing plant that can reach a height of 3 m.
Jasminum officinale, known as common jasmine, is the most common species of jasmine in the temperate climate, due to the large, white flowers with a strong fragrance. It is native to the Caucasus area of Asia, the Middle East, and Central and Southern Europe.
Care. Jasmine prefers bright places with a lot of sun, and if it is kept indoors, it is recommended to place it near a window covered by a thin curtain, to prevent sunburn. Watering. It is recommended to administer water once every 2-3 days during the hot summer months or when the surface layer of the substrate is dry. During the winter months, jasmine does not require the same amount of water due to the lack of flowers and low temperatures, so it is advisable to check once or twice a week if the substrate is dry on the surface. The intervals are indicative because the amount of water and the frequency of watering depends on the needs of the plant, temperature, location.
Fertilization. It is done once a month, in spring and summer, with fertilizer for flowering plants. In autumn and winter, the administration of fertilizer should stop to help the plant enter the dormancy period.
