Spinach

Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) is an annual herbaceous plant of the Amaranthaceae family, cultivated for its leaves, which are used as a vegetable. The plant has simple leaves that come from the center of the plant and measure between 2 and 30 cm in length. The leaves grow in a rosette and can appear curled or flat. The plant produces small, yellow-green flowers that are 3-4 mm in diameter. The flowers produce small clusters of fruits, which contain seeds. Spinach survives only one growing season and can reach 30 cm in height.
