Silverfish

The silverfish is a small insect, widespread in almost all regions of the globe. They are often found in people's homes, especially in high humidity areas. They enter the house most easily through the water drain. They have nocturnal activity, being observed at night. Because they are able to degrade polysaccharides very easily, they cause damage to paper objects, textiles, sweet foods, etc. Control consists of applying specific insecticide treatments. Chemical control is not sufficient unless the cause of the insect's appearance (often excessive humidity) is removed.
