Bats are flying mammals that have modified forelimbs adapted for flight. Their size can vary from a few centimeters wingspan to 1.5 m (wingspan). In our country there are 10 genera of bats, comprising 32 different species, making up one of the most valuable bat populations in Europe. Bats feed on a variety of harmful insects and are therefore beneficial to the environment. They can become a pest when they enter people's homes in search of food or shelter. As legally protected animals, chemical control measures are not required, but they are safely released outdoors.
