Freesia

Freesia (Freesia x hybrida) is a perennial herbaceous plant, which is part of the Iridaceae family, native to central and southern Africa. The species Freesia x hybrida resulted from the crossing of 4 species from the Freesia genus: Freesia refracta, Freesia leichtlinii, Freesia aurea and Freesia armstrongii. The flowers are varied and brightly colored: white, cream, blue, yellow, orange, red, purple, etc. The fruit is a capsule containing reddish-brown seeds.
