Tillandsia

Tillandsia, commonly called "daughter of the air" is a genus of plants in the Bromeliaceae family, comprising about 650 species native to Central America. The leaves differ in shape and appearance depending on the species, and most are floriferous. On the surface of the leaves, there is a layer of cells specialized in absorbing water that comes into contact with them. Many species are epiphytic, growing on the bark of trees.
